Hemp is a US produced renewable material with unique properties that create superior building products for a healthier environment indoors & out
Hemp LIME is Fire Resistant
Greater Than 2 Hour Fire Rating
Zero Flame
Zero Smoke Spread
Hemp LIME is Healthy
Mold Resistant – Water vapor permeability regulates humidity consistently & naturally. Unlike traditional stud construction, there is no cavity to trap moisture & no food source for mold.
Pest Resistant – Lime has a high pH (alkaline) which acts as a fungicide. Lime is naturally antimicrobial & repels undesirable insects.
VOC Free – Hemp lime contains no chemicals that can off-gas into the indoor environment. Hemp lime is made completely from natural materials, simply hemp, lime & water.
Hemp LIME is Comfortable
Breathable, non-toxic walls that are moisture permeable & absorbent will naturally regulate temperature and humidity
Precast interlocking panels replace multiple products in traditional construction
Cooler in Summer
Humidity permeability 23 gm/m2/mm hg offers a natural humidity release
Removes stale air & moisture build up common with modern construction
air permeability <0.002 L/s/m2
Warmer in Winter
Effective R2.1+ per inch insulation value can more than double most current code
No gaps or holes in the building envelope reduces thermal bridging
Thermal mass inertia creates efficient temperature distribution
Lower Sound Transfer
Excellent sound proofing material
Acoustic Properties:
Mean Acoustic Absorption Coefficient 0.10-0.55 NRC (Depending on coatings)
Acoustic properties STC 32-42 dB (Depending on coatings)
Hemp LIME is Carbon Negative
As the world builds the equivalent of an entire New York City every month, reducing the carbon emissions of material is critical to combating climate change.
While we’ve made great progress improving the energy efficiency of building operations, the next frontier is reducing embodied carbon in buildings – the emissions from material manufacturing and construction processes.
Building with hemp is capable of capturing 130 Kg of carbon dioxide per cubic meter.
One hectare of hemp crop will consume over 10 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually while the plants grow, 4 times more than a hectare of mature trees in a forest.
A 2000 sq ft house constructed with hemp lime will lock up over 10 metric tons of CO2.
